Home Again

We're still trying to recoup from market but wanted to share a couple of photos from market. One of the highlights of market is getting the opportunity to meet and learn from the many reknown quilters and designers in the industry. We had the opportunity to visit with Lynn Hagemeier of Kansas Troubles and Jodi Barrows of Square in a Square, just to name of couple. Eleanor Burns of Quilt in a Day and her son, Orion, shared their latest projects - and Eleanor stopped long enough to take a photo with us.

Exhausted

After two days of walking & walking & walking the show floor at the International Quilt Market, we are officially exhausted - but excited about the new things we saw. We don't want to spill the beans yet, but plan to attend our Mystery Reveal on Saturday, November 7 where we'll have show 'n tells and demos of many of the new items from market. Stay tuned..........

Classes, Classes, Classes

The first day of International Quilt Market is jam-packed with classes. The day started out early at 7:30 a.m. correcting errors on our class schedules. Then from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m., we attended a total of 17 classes on a wide array of topics. We attended classes taught by such well-known designers as Jinny Beyer, Ricky Tims, Robin Pandolph and Alex Anderson. We learned about new lines of fabric, new notions and tools, and business operations. Then, when we thought we couldn't do one more thing, it was time for Sample Spree. The frantic frenzy of hundreds of quilters racing into a room to buy fat quarter bundles of the new lines of fabric is something to experience. And of course, we had to experience it all! After a full day, we finally sat down to a late dinner after 10 p.m. and crashed in our room at 11. Tomorrow begins the actual market.

We're Off..............

...& we made it! We set off on Wednesday for our 2nd annual trek to Houston for International Quilt Market. We drove as far as Dallas on Wednesday, and hit the bed early (anything before midnight is early) to rest up for a day at the Moda warehouse. At Moda, we shopped and shopped and shopped - until they finally shut the lights out on us and closed the warehouse! Then we headed on to Houston, where it's a balmy 80 degrees (much better than the snow they're predicting at home). Friday is classes and market shopping spree!
