Fun with Lynne (& Lois)!

What a great weekend at Prairie Flower Quilt Co.! Lynne Hagmeier of Kansas Troubles and her assistant Lois helped us celebrate our 1st anniversary with a trunk show on Friday evening and a raw edge applique workshop on Saturday. Seeing all of Lynne's quilts was so motivating - she has so many fun techniques. Thank you to everyone for making these events such a success!

Lynne provided a fun-filled evening telling the behind-the-scenes life of a fabric and pattern designer through her quilts.

We hope the crowd enjoyed the evening as much as we did!

Our guest book for the event was signature quilt blocks made from Kansas Troubles fabric that will be made into a quilt to commemorate our first year in business. If you haven't signed a quilt block yet, stop by the shop asap!

One of our "birthday" cakes.

A quilter's tablescape.....quilts and jars of buttons!

Sew In

Join us on Monday, January 18 for a "Sew In" to benefit the Woods family who lost their home to fire last week. We'll make a quilt to donate to the family - and have a great time doing it! We'll need helpers to cut, sew and press all day long, so come for an hour or come for the day. We'll start at 10 a.m. and have a carry-in lunch. The Woods family has lost all their treasured belongings, so we hope to create a new keepsake they can treasure.

Sophie & Friends & More

We've cleared out a lot of fabric and put it on sale in the classroom....just in time for all the new fabrics to arrive! Today, several big boxes were delivered with lots of beautiful fabric (are there any that aren't?)We just fell in love with Sophie and Friends from Marcus Brothers. This pink, blue and brown collection is very versatile and can be used for baby and adult quilts alike. It features a cute toile border print for a vintage look. And brown is still all the rage, so stop in and stock up before this is all gone!

We also received a shipment of Aunt Gracie 30's fabrics that include lots of solids, something that we've been short on in the past. These solids are great for lots of vintage looks.
