Christmas Sewcial

Come help us kick off this year's Christmas in July with a Christmas "Sewcial". Help us as we 'unwrap' all of our holiday fabrics and samples. We are so excited to share with you some beautiful fabrics to make your holidays handmade and special. We'll also be sharing the latest and greatest items that we found at market in May. Wear your 'ugly' Christmas sweater and get 10% off any of our show & tell items from market! And of course, there will be food, prizes and lots of fun!

Sizzlin' Santa Strip Run

July 12, 13 & 14

9 a.m. - 6 p.m.

We're excited to be hosting our first "Sizzlin' Santa Strip Run" with three other quilt shops - The Quilt Cabin and Colby Sew & Vac in Colby; and Smokey River Quilt Shoppe in Oakley. At each shop you can purchase a mini strip roll featuring 5 red and 5 green Christmas fabric strips for $10. Get all 4 mini strip rolls and make one of the projects featured at each shop - or buy more and make all 4 projects! Visit all 4 shops and have a chance to win one of four $50 gift baskets. There will also be select fabric groups on sale at 25% off!

Sizzlin' Santa Strip Run

Mark your calendars for our new Christmas in July event ..... the Sizzlin' Santa Strip Run on July 12, 13 & 14!  Get a mini Jelly Roll strip bundle at each of the four shops (Colby Sew & Vac, Quilt Cabin, Smoky River Quilt Shop & us, Prairie Flower Quilt Co.), and see each of the shop's finished strip project for finishing ideas.  There will be special sales at each of the shops, all the new Christmas fabrics to see, and lots of fun. Strip Club

Make plans to attend our next Strip Club demo at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 28. See how easy it is to make strip quilts using the Strip Tube method. Here's a sneak peek of this month's project. Kits available on a first come, first serve basis.

Hip New Flannel

New flannel has arrived sporting the new color of the year - Gray! Gray is the new 'black' and we've paired it up with navy, green and white for a fresh new look. Perfect for baby quilts that are stylin'!

New Sunflower Quilt

A new sample quilt arrived from the designer just in time for the shop hop. We made kits today and can't wait for you to see it!

Athill Prairie

We're rearranging fabric today to make room for Moda's latest collection, Athill Range, that arrived earlier this week. Look at the beautiful pattern that came with the fabric. Hmmm, maybe those UFOs will have to wait a little longer because this looks so much more fun to make!

Athill Range

Another new collection from Moda arrived yesterday and we are busy cutting fat quarters today. Athill Range by Cabbage and Roses is full of vintage English charm with just the right amount of colour,  divided into tiny, medium and larger scale prints. Hmmm, we're already dreaming of what shabby chic projects we can make!

Spring has Sprung!

It's starting to look like spring in the shop with the new fabric lines arriving.  One of the latest to arrive is "In the Meadow" by Quilting Treasures.  Fun, modern prints in pinks and greens make up this cute quilt that we're in the process of kitting.  Reserve your kit today!

"Amish Stars" Shop Hop Quilt

Our 2012 Shop Hop quilt is complete and hanging in the shop. This year's shop hop quilts feature star blocks in an Amish theme. You have to see our quilt in person to really appreciate it and the custom feather quilting! Each of the shop's star block kits are $5 and our finishing kit is $70. Finished quilt is 88" x 88". We hope you'll join the fun and participate in the Prairie Stars Shop Hop April 12 -21. Papillon by 3 Sisters for Moda

Last spring while perusing an antique market in Europe, the sisters made a most exciting discovery. An antique quilt from the 1860s with a very unique backing comprised of bold, simple bands of large, faded florals to die for! Feeling quite inspired, the sisters scoured their vast library of antique fabrics to complete their next collection. The dramatic Jacobean and rose ado...rned florals are complimented by the occasional Papillon, which is French for butterfly. Paired with delicate botanical prints in the quilt’s original palette of pale, dusty pinks and aquas with faded red and stone accents, Papillon captures all the splendor of a lush garden estate. 3rd Anniversary Celebration!

You are cordially invited to Prairie Flower Quilt Co.'s 3rd Anniversary Celebration on Friday and Saturday, January 27 & 28.

Join us on Friday evening at 7 p.m. at the Leoti Senior Center for a "Tips and Tricks" Demo and Trunk Show presented by Marci Baker of Alicia's Attic. Marci is a quilt book author, ruler designer, and international quilting instructor. Marci will show you some of her beautiful quilts, such as her 3D Tumbling Blocks quilts, and demo quilting tips and tricks to create your own beautiful quilts. We'll have sweet treats, gifts and giveaways too.

But the trunk show will just scratch the surface of Marci's wealth of talent, so sign up for her "ABC 3D" class on Saturday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. She will teach you her strip-pieced technique for making a tumbling blocks quilt with no Y seams. She'll also discuss fabric selection to make your quilts come alive. Choose to make either the "Inner City" or 'Tumbling Blocks" quilt. Class is $35 plus supplies (book & 9 fat quarters).

Crazy Eight Strip Teaser Tabletopper Class

Join us on Saturday, January 21 as Kathleen Dowling shows how to make a Crazy Eight Strip Teaser Tabletopper. This unique table topper will have you spinning. Almost pinwheel-like in shape and effect. It's created from strip-piecing 8 fabrics together, from light to dark, then cutting them into large and small triangles and sewing them into partial, overlapping squares.
