MIA?

Did you miss us? We were 'missing in action' at the shop for a few days as we attended the Spring International Quilt Market in Salt Lake City last week. Market is always a hustling, bustling time and it's always fun to see what's new in the industry.

Here's a peek thru the second story window of the convention center filled with vendor booths. My feet ache just thinking about all that walking!
Jillily Studios treated everyone to mini sorbet ice cream cones - what a treat for a mid-afternoon pick-me-up!
We just love Edyta Sitar's creative ability to combine batiks and prints into beautiful quilts. Edyta designs under the name of Laundry Basket Quilts for Moda.

We marveled at some of the unique names of quilt designer companies. Some, like "Cluck, Cluck, Sew" made us laugh, while others just left us wondering what they were thinking.
It's always fun to see the 'rich & famous' of the quilting world at market, such as Nancy Zieman, demonstrating her tools, and Eleanor Burns, who both are spokeswomen for Babylock.
One of our favorite displays at quilt market was Riley Blake Designs - we loved this fabric wrapped tree and are trying to figure out how we can recreate it at the shop. Riley Blake, plus 30 other Utah-based quilt-related companies, hosted a booth hop at market. Those who completed the hop are eligible for prizes from each of the participating booths. Keep your fingers crossed for us!
Each evening we were serenaded by Bob, The Bagpiper as we walked back to our hotel.

Stay tuned over the next few months as we unveil some of the great new items we found at market!
